Map of Dog Beaches and Walks

Where can you take your dog Central Coast?

The Central Coast has many beautiful beaches and outdoor areas, about every second beach on the coast is a dog beach, its a great place to have a dog as part of the family. The only thing is that dogs are not permitted in many reserve areas on the Central Coast so its good to know that too. Here is a map with our favourites. Below is also a guide to seeing all of the Central Coast Council Dog Areas.

Strickland State Forest

If you are thinking about purchasing a property or moving to the Central Coast then it is a good idea to check that you are located close to some great areas to take your puppies for a walk.

How to find Dog Areas in Central Coast?

  1. Click on the Online Mapping Tool on Central Coast Council's website here.

2. Agree to council's terms and conditions:

3. Try searching for your address. This often deosn't work, tried three different examples and not a single one worked - not to worry though, use the scroll on your computer mouse to zoom into your address. It often helps to have google maps open beside it to make your address easier to find.

4. Zoom into your address using the scroll bar.

5. In the left sidebar scroll down.

6. In the left sidebar scroll down and select Dog Exercise Areas:

7. Turn off the Dogs prohibited areas and focus on the areas you can take your dogs. There are two areas that are not shown on this map that are also worth knowing about - Strickland State Forest and Kariong Dog Park are not council owned so they are not on this map. Strickland State Forest is a beautiful rainforest where you can walk your dog. Kariong Dog Park is a large farm like field to let your dog roam free.

8. You can fade the background so that it is easier to see.

If there are no dog areas near me - what should I do?

Take them to a beach - there are so many dog beaches on the coast. Or take them to Strickland State Forest or Kariong Dog Park they are great places for dogs and people.
